Pours clear light amber into a glass. White head is creamy and well retained; it sits for a long time.

Aroma is light, malty and creamy. The flavour is very malty, vinous and a tad soapy. There's a very strong toffee-like creaminess to this ale along with a strong hop character and floral undertone. But the beer is still light enough to be a blonde.

Feel is on the moderate side of light, with minimal carbonation, smooth and creamy.

Overall it's not like any blonde I've had before; very malty and slightly stewed. Still sessionable, though.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of May 2015. Picked up a while back from Booths. Described on the label as a pale ale witha biscuity malt and tropical hop flavours.

A: Poured into a tulip pint glass. A clear amber hue with faint sediment and good carbonation. Yields a decent head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before settling as a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.

S: Aroma of lightly fruity hops with hints of mild citrus, subtle white grape, grass/hay, grainy malt, ale yeast and faint stewed leaves. Underwhelming.

T: Tastes of mild fruity hops with a subdued bitter finish. Notes of subtle citrus, a touch of white grape, grass/hay, grainy malt, ale yeast, delicate earthiness and faint stewed leaves. Well-attenuated, followed by a crisp, restrained bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with spritzy carbonation and decent body. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of subtle aromatic hops, harsh leafy bitterness and faint grainy malt.

O: A bit disappointing - I was hoping for more hop intensity but perhaps this has faded. Looks OK, while the aroma and flavour are a lacklustre combination of mild fruity hops, grainy malt and ale yeast. Body is alright. I guess this bottle is just a bit old - perhaps I'll grab a fresher one at some point. No need to hunt it down.
