33 cl bottle into a glass in Toulouse, France. Pours deep brown, almost black, with a very short foam. Not much lacing, skinny legs.
Nose is dark roast, a lil char, chocolate, molasses, licorice.
Taste is chocolate, vanilla, light coffee, dark stone fruits and a fair hop bitterness. Long sticky finish.
Mouth is full and round. Medium carbonation.
Overall, a well made classic RIS. I personally like the style to have a more bitter note to overcome the sweetness.

A: Pours absolutely pitch black with a brown colored head (very dark). Head volume is low and it lasts for only a short time before settling to a ring. A little lacing but a ton of alcohol legs.
S: Strong smell. First thing I notice in the smell is a quite intense savory soy sauce like smell. Past that there is powdered cocoa and espresso coffee. Not a lot of residual sugar it seems.
T: Strong taste. The dark chocolate notes are still there as well as the espresso notes and the soy sauce. Quite savory. That's about it. Some raisins and prunes after the 3rd sip. Pretty out of the ordinary. Long aftertaste.
M: Thick vsicous feel with minimal carbonation. For the first time in a long time, I'd think it would benefit for a little bit more carbonation.
O: This is quite out of the ordinary. It's very savory. It's not necessarily bad, but it isn't the "best" option. Still, gotta give it marks for trying something really different.

Black color with almost no foam. Aroma is quite savory with fish sauce notes and root beer. Taste has malt syrup, roasted grains and a bit of soy sauce. Medium plus body with low carbonation. Pretty legit RIS.

De lalonjadelacerveza. En copa Teku. Jugando a Avernum 5. Deliciosamente achocolatada, aunque mantiendo un buen equilibrio general en todos los aspectos y bebiendose mas rapido de lo que su abv debe. Petroleo espeso pero sin espuma

Poured from fridge temperature. Pours jet black with little head. Doesn't get much blacker than this! Aroma is roasted malts, black licorice, wood, dark fruit, and a bit of chocolate sweetness. Taste is incredible. Chocolate is dominant, with black licorice, bitterness, wood, vanilla, slight coffee, and a bit of toffee. Also getting a good amount of brown sugar, and a bit of soy sauce (not in a bad way). Mouthfeel is thick and creamy - very robust. Really nice, with lingering chocolate flavors. Overall, an incredible RIS.

330 ml bottle, Habemus Birra, Alicante - Pours jet black with a medium tanned head which quickly dissipates. Nice lacing. Medium carbonation. Aroma - Roasted malts, lactose, dark chocolate, roasted coffee. Taste - Sweet, rich, lactose, smooth front, roasted malts, dark chocolate, light bitter finish with a hint of alcoholic warmth at the back end. This hit all the right notes for me. Lovely well balanced RIS and well worth finding.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry and bitter black chocolate notes with light coffee notes is more intense then expected. Taste is a mix of bitter chocolate notes with dry bitter notes with light coffee notes. Body is full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol notes. Enjoyable but a lot dryer then most of the American counterpart.

I liked this beer. There is a style of my favorites on the contrary. Find a style that you beers too strong, too dense, with few nuances. This beer is strong, dense but leaves room for nuances and evolution in the mouth and in the glass. Just do a beer without concessions

Way too sweet and sticky. Barrel only mildly discernible.
