Served from the bottle in a Samuel Adams sensory pint glass.
Pours a straight obsidian topped by a short finger of tan foam. The nose comprises roast, toasted biscuit, pine needles, light candied orange peel, and a hint of boozy wood. The taste brings in more of the same, along with a hint of vanilla bean and a slight twinge of those armagnac barrels (which meld rather well with the surrounding strong roast). The body is a hefty medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a relatively dry finish. A well-barreled RIS, to be sure.
