Brauerei zum Klosterhof “Festbier”
1L flip-top brown glass bottle seemingly without production codes or freshness dating.
Notes: It’s organic, and starts at 13.5˚ Plato.
Look: Hazy amber colored body beneath a full head of dense white foam. Very good head retention and lacing.
Smell: Gently sweet and bready malt with just a suggestion of herbal hops.
Taste: Malty with bready and lightly caramelish malt, and herbal and spicy hops. A median bitterness balances it and it finishes mainly dry as the bready malt fades.
Feel: Medium in body with a fine-bubbled, gently crisp carbonation.
Overall: There’s something unique in the flavor but I can’t quite describe it. My guess is that it has something to do with the organic malts. Quite enjoyable.
