Brewed with pilsner malt and wheat, along with the zest and juice of several hundred pounds of grapefruit in the whirlpool and then a second addition of zest in the tank after primary fermentation. Hopped with Chinook and Cascade and fermented with a mixed culture.

I had this beer on-tap in a mug at Special Brews in Lynnwood, WA.

Appearance: light golden hue with a light, shimmery haze and a thin finger of frothy ivory foam atop. There's a nice lace left on the glass; it's a decent looking saison.

Smell: mild saison funk along with some earthy, pithy character, reminiscent to me of grains of paradise. Not bad.

Taste: a lightly biscuity malt, along with plenty of pithy bitterness, accompany a mild funk. It's interesting, for sure, but it's not revolutionary.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a big, well-integrated carbonation, and a downright outstanding creaminess. Love it!

Overall: this beer is interesting, and worth a try, but it is not outstanding except for its wonderful creaminess.

Mostly clear sparkly pale yellow with a uniform, bright white caviar bubble cap leaving no lace.

A fresh cut cedar-like aroma hits my nose first, paired with Colby Jack, a touch of black pepper and a light, natural twang of grapefruit.

Taste is light grass and spiced orange while the grapefruit is very light of natural zest, with a mature, peppery woodiness and a hint of onion.

Soft, lightly frothed, slick and almost watery with a semi-wet finish.

some of the most natural tasting grapefruit i have experienced in a beer straight zesty, real as the fruit itself, and not overdosed, sweet, or too acidic, its brought into this delicate saison in a really pretty way, i loved this, and might have had ten of them if they didnt have so many interesting beers flowing when we visited the brewery. golden and light with a lively white head, the aroma of the fresh grapefruit, acids and oils, and the surprising amount of hops, really come forward and make my mouth water. they say mixed fermentation, but other than a slight tang that could easily be confused for grapefruit acidity, this is more belgian than anything else, a little white wine and the lightest funk to it, kind of new, fruity but subtle, behind the grapefruit for sure, but balanced too. some bitterness from fruit and hops to finish, a mature bretty weirdness would make this cool, as would a wine barrel treatment, but i also adore how fresh and bright it all is, super summery, but i would drink this any time of year. crisp in the finish for the style, hyper carbonated, and just delicious and fresh. supreme saison, one of my favorites in here!
