perhaps the most generic beer i have ever had from these guys. not to say its bad, quite the opposite, its awesome, but its like something someone (and everyone) else would make, which is not how i know holy mountain to be. every beer seems like a unique thought and/or moment, and its weird to me to have a beer from them that seems samey, never thought i would see the day, although i guess it looks like this one is quite popular for them. its a slightly more bitter expression of citra than most of us are used to, but the beer seems also stripped down and minimal at the same time, not too much happening for better or for worse, just a beer, which again, is not what i have come to expect from holy mountain. the grain is really light and the whole thing is dry, there is a slight ester in here but not much of a fermentation profile overall, and frankly its a little boring as they go, especially for these guys. i get that its well made beer in a drinkable and somewhat sexy style, but i wanted a whole lot more from this one for some reason. the bitterness lingers too long and the whole thing just lacks at the same time that it overshoots, i dont know, not what i wanted from this, as much as it is objectively good and all...

Pour: On draft at Holy Mountain Brewery in Seattle, WA. Poured into a nonic pint glass. Appearance: Light gold in color with a minimal white head. Light haze look to the brew. Aroma: Light yet intense citrus and floral notes. Grapefruit and orange for sure. Taste: Mellow and not as intense as the nose would suggest. Aftertaste: Light finish. Nothing intense at the end. Can detect some sweetness...honey. Overall: Easy to drink and easy to like. Like what Holy Mountain did with this one. Very Good. 4.31 out of 5.
