It is a hazy, dull gold color. Moderate sized bright white foamy head that leaves some lacing.
It has a slight dank/medicinal note in the aroma, but mostly yeast stands out with a little bit of grapefruit like fruit.
For a relatively muted nose, the flavor really pops. There is some grapefruit, pineapple, mandarin orange, and some apricot or sour/musty peach. Especially on the back end. It finishes with a significant bitterness that has a lingering green leaf flavor.
The body is soft and pillowy overall, but a bit prickly up front, and a little bit astringent/drying in the end.
Overall, this is a nice example of a NE IPA for me. It has the fruity flavors, but still has a nice amount of bitterness and hop profile for balance. It reminds me of some of the originals like Sip of Sunshine, Captains Daughter, and some Trillium beers.
