Beautiful opaque golden orange body with a good size lacy head. Good retention and whispy lacing like spider webs across the window.
Nose was big and spicy and in your face and really really unique. Reminded me of splitting wood back home. Like... some cedar? And big sappy... fir? The really crappy logs that don't make for great firewood but are ubiquitous, and have all those little red splinters that make it really worth it to wear gloves. As I get over that nostalgia wave it settles in with a vaguely tropical note, and a distinctly peach-candy character.
Definitely follows the nose. Same big pulpy woody sap initially, and with a sweet peachy ring vein throughout. I don't really get any of the pineapple and coconut that the blurb talked about... maybe some pineapple in the wood if I really looked for it, but I wouldn't have come up with it on my own. It definitely blossoms and grows on me as I work through the glass.
Ultimately it's just a super unique brew per my experience. Bold, and ultimately enjoyable, but definitely took me initially by surprise and for a ride.
