Moon Temple was brewed with pilsner malt, wheat, rye, and spelt. It was lightly hopped with New Zealand moutere and fermented in oak puncheons with a house mixed culture. After primary fermentation it was transferred into oak barrels and aged on mandarin oranges, along with a blend of green and black tea from China.

Pale golden colour with a fizzy white head that settles in.
Nose is soft minerality. Maybe some sweet floral wood and a touch of green tea.
Flavour is 'fruity' and tart up front (the fruity aspect is almost more in the berry vein, though it probably has origins in the wine barrels). This washes across with a dry tea-like finish.
Effervescent and lively on the tongue. Definitely more dry.
It's really well made, obviously, and this shines through. It's got a little bit of the wine barrel, but that could be partly suggestion based on the label, and an interesting dry character with the tea. Overall though it kind of falls into the 'Holy Mountain Wild Ale' basket, which is a wonderful thing, but not one I'm always very good at teasing apart and getting to the individual strands.
