Holy Mountain Brewing Company - Interbay Brewery + Taproom

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a lightly hazy, medium golden amber with a quarter finger white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of mildly caramel malt, citrus, piney and tropical fruit hops, tangerine, mango and a little pineapple. Flavor follows, with lightly caramel malt, the same combination of hops, orange, lemon, mixed tropical fruit, melon, light pineapple and pine. Solidly bitter citrus rind, pine and tropical fruit ester finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. This is what I hope for from an unknown IPA these days; perhaps some haziness and tropical fruitiness, but combined with moderate to assertive bitterness and interesting fruit mixture. Solar Mass is a bit busy, with quite a spectrum of flavors, but they meld well and leave a very pleasant estery fruit aftertaste with some pine around the edges. I liked this one quite a bit. I think it's a one-off, but I'd get it again if I saw it.
