This one pours a golden dark brown color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like deep caramel, toffee, vanilla, chocolate, leather, bourbon, brown sugar, and molasses.
This is so, so enjoyable. There's no hint of the 13.5% ABV here - it's smooth, and silky, with a killer integrated barrel character. I get vanilla, leather, and oak, with bourbon, along with plum, chocolate, caramel, and toffee. Everything about this works for me.
This is medium bodied, with no booze, and a very sticky and pleasant mouthfeel. It's sweet, but not overly so at all.
This certainly belongs in the upper echelon for barleywines. I'm happy to have finally landed this one.
