Pours a somewhat small finger of white head into my Willi glass. Retention is ok, the head fades within a couple minutes, settling into a nice rim. Initial lacing looks very nice. Body is hazy, a light shade of yellow, lemonade-like. Look pretty good so far.

Nose is ok, primarily citrus rind at first, but some nice sweet tropical notes of mango and papaya come out with time. Quite lovely.

Flavor hits pretty close to home. It’s certainly a pale, more sessionable than an IPA, and that translates to the flavor being a little smaller than it could be. That said, there are nice tropical notes, citrus rind is present as well. Those flavors fight for attention - I wouldn’t mind the tropical flavors taking over. Small dankness in the background as well. I always find myself expecting pale’s to just be lighter ABV versions of IPA’s, and I forget that they are supposed to be more sessionable all around. I probably prefer a good hefty IPA, but this does serve a good purpose, I crushed a few last night and it was the perfect beer to drink multiple of.

Carbonation is pretty high on this guy, not unheard of, but a little surprising. The body is pretty light, and the carbonation accentuates that that. Bitterness is very approachable, but does not shy away. Just enough sweetness to keep it balanced, nothing more. Overall the carbonation is a little odd, but this mouthfeel is pretty nice and balanced.

Drinkability is very good; this is pretty flavorful, and light enough to crush.

Appearance actually turned out somewhat poor. The head faded completely, and the lacing was nonexistent.

Those tropical notes come out a bit more as this warms, though I wouldn’t say it gets past pale ale flavor levels. Overall a nice sessionable beer, pretty balanced, with a good amount of flavor.
