16oz can
Pours three fingers of white head into my Willi. Retention is above average, and half of the head remains after a few minutes. Lacing is quite nice. Body is a super hazy orange. Looks very good.
Nose has a small dose of citrus rind that leads way into a big tropical bouquet of mango and papaya, finishing with spice. Smells very nice.
Flavor is extremely juicy, definitely leans towards that tropical side. Dank spice comes in at the finish in a pitiful attempt at balancing this absolute juice bomb. Citrus comes out over time and takes a firm grasp of the beer as it warms. Regardless of the temperature, I think this might be a little too much for me.
The mouthfeel contributes a big part to the ludicrousy of this beer, and kills most of the steam it had - the sugars are just too high here, and the beer is somewhat cloying. The elevated bitterness does not do enough to balance it out, and becomes a little much in its own right; there is a significant citrus bitterness too. Body is medium. A moderate carbonation is aided by a significant hop spice which provides a nice character, the only redeeming factor to the mouthfeel. Overall this is not that palatable, and kinda all over the place.
Drinkability is poor.
Overall this is extremely bitter, and quite sweet. This beer can’t breathe, it’s being smothered.
