Poured at cellar temp. Pours a dark brown with a half inch of off-white head. The nose is Scotch whisky, toffee, and figs. Really nice, but not overly intense.
The taste is good, but definitely not what I would think from a BA English barleywine. Black licorice, dark toffee, slightly smoky, Scotch, molasses, and a bit of honey. Interesting for sure.
Mouthfeel is fairly light bodied and the aftertaste is Scotch and some dark fruit.
