L- Pours quite pale straw, crystal clear, with some rising bubbles into a 4cm white foam cap. p.s. At 10mins post-pour it is holding very well.
S- Mild for me (winter congestion - sigh), just some grain.
T- Quite bright trad hops are the 1st note, almost immediately underpinned by quite solid malts with some richness.
F- It's bright yet also rewarding body-wise.
O- This beer doesn't 'write it's own rating'. There is no drama, a good thing, but also no really prominent facets. The feature here is the balance of quite bright hops together with the quite robust malts. Very trad, absolutely a sessionable beer in colder months tho some will miss the lack of stand-out facets.
BB: 05/2025 500ml bottle, bought from Trembling Madness in York, UK.
I'm surprised the very ancient looking label hasn't been banned in the UK. It is a stylised image of what appears to be a naked young girl holding both a stein of Flotzinger in one hand, a Christmas tree with lights in the other, all while riding the back of a leaping white goat. 'Surely offence in this is obvious to all!' Either she took the session of beer too far and risks catching a nasty cold or someone 'dropped' something into her beverage. - Sigh! I jest of course but society these days eh. Happy holidays folks!

Another one of this Bavarian Christmas beers. This is of course not a style rather a seasonal offering that seems to be a Märzen or an Export with a Christmas label stitched on. This here falls in the Export category, which means a Helles grain bill with a little more alcohol and some typical noble hop addition that makes it very herbal and grassy.
