Trachtler Hoibe is mostly a novelty beer.

Pours a rusty orange colour, very clear, lots of head that dissipates quickly. Almost completely flat smell. I can't pick out a single thing. The taste is marginally better. Nice mouthfeel though, very smooth and dry.

By the way, this is NOT a Pils. It's a Helles, along the lines of Augustiner Helles - just a little darker.

Listed as an "Exportbier" on the label, this pours as a pilsener. Clear golden color, fair amount of foam, and just a little bit more "snap" to the crisp flavors. My guess is this is more of a local offering, and not exported. The export style usually is just a tad bit stronger than the normal pils offerings here. A solid offering from this brewery, if you can find it.
