Copenhagen 3/5 2023. 40 cl from tap at Taphouse, Lavendelstræde, Kbh. K.
Pours opaque dark brown with a small tan head. Stable. Settles as thin patch of foam almost covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a dark, sweet odor of malts, sugar and alcohol. Roasted dark malts, brown sugar and toffee. Rum and raisins. Wooden.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingering. Finish is rather dry.
Dark and well balanced Power House which manages to hide its ABV rather well.

De OkassionalBeer. En copa Teku. Jugando a Batman Enemy Within. El perfil a madera es algo más intenso de lo ideal, sin qué ello se óbice para que que se disfrute y termine rápidamente. Sin embargo, tapa los matices que deberían aportar el resto de ingredientes

44 cl can poured slightly chilled into a stemmed Teku glass, in Toulouse, France.
Given the advantage of the Teku, a perfect bubbly head rises above noir biere. Style point added!
Nose is freshly percolated coffee out front of sweet chocolatey malt. After a couple of minutes, more complex aromas reveal themselves; molasses being prominent.
Taste is a layered and complex imperial stout aged on oak, complemented by cacao nibs, coarse ground coffee beans and vanilla.
Golden Promise, Golden Naked Oats, Malted Rye, Red Rye Crystal, Brown Malt, Premium English Caramalt, Chocolate Malt and Roasted Barley make a rich, malty stout base, brown sugar in the boil adds a molasses touch, and Simcoe hop addition balances it all out. The vanilla shines in tandem with the oak and a roasty bitterness prevails. Nice and warm 12.5% ABV.
Mouth is thick and smooth but not dense, medium carbonation.
Overall, a pleasurable but stern Vanilla Latte pastry stout with lots of flavor layers.
