Pours black with light edges and never-ending foam. Sporadic lacing. Not much cherry on the nose; if anything, chocolate-covered with a heavy emphasis on the dark chocolate. Coffee notes as well. Cherry comes through mightily in the taste, with a sweet, tartness that works, though probably not for every drinker. Creamy, almost syrupy mouthfeel with only slight bitter-dryness at the end. Overall, probably everything you could want in a cherry Porter.

Black color with mocha head. Aroma has caramel, fruit acidity, toffee and some roasted malts. Taste starts with tart cherries but gets quickly bitter with cherry pit flavor and roasted malts and coffee. Medium body and carbonation. Quite interesting combination of fruit tartness and roasted flavors.

Pours dark brown with a quickly-dissipating tan head with slightly reddish hues. Aroma of roasted malt, cherries and leather. On the lighter side for the body of a porter, which really helps the drinkability. I find the flavor to be pretty intense. There's a porter in there, but I'd call this a cherry beer first. I get cherry all the way through, and then right at the end it finishes with a great roast pop. There's definitely good acidity here also. I wouldn't call it a sour, but this is right up there with New Glarus' Cherry Stout, which I always call a sour stout. I'd love to try those two side-by-side. In all this is an excellent beer that I look forward to drinking again.

Looks amazing, pitch black pour, very nice velvety head that keeps its height for a while. You can feel the cherries in the smell, along with caramel and something else that I can only identify as wood. The taste - very interesting. Sour, with a distinctive taste of cherries, bitter body and with a bit of lactose to bring everything together. Smooth texture and just a hint of carbonation.
The sweetness does overwhelm a bit, on the first sip, but is OK afterwards.
