Bottle, beige tiny head. Rum barrel not detected on the nose, just a mix of not very pleasant aromas to me. Taste is some rum and spices. Watery feel. Not excited about it

Almost black color with light brown head. Aroma is quite interesting. It's somehow bright but you also get the liquor. Couldn't really put my finger on rum. It has some rum characteristics but it's mixed with many other flavors which are hard to describe. Overall it smells like some kind of spicy chocolate liquor. Taste follows like the aroma with some extra dark fruits and hint of liquorice. Medium body but really smooth on the palate. Really interesting overall, well balanced and tasty.

This was one of the guest taps at the Van Moll brewpub in Eindhoven. I had three 0.20l glasses (€4.00 each) during my 01OCT15 visit.
It was served to me in a small, goblet type glass. It was opaque, a dense black liquid. Head was a creamy mass of mocha foam, with nice lacework on the glass. Aroma exhibited some choco and coffee, along with some distinct rum-barrel action. Had a medium body and felt A-OK on the tongue. Same as it ever was.
Choco and coffee were prominent in the flavor as well. Definitely rummy, with some raisins and currants mixed in with some semi-sweet cocoa nibs and mocha. Finish was lightly floral, though not overly strong. The dark fruit and rum-aging make this a nice one! Prosit!!

Rum barrel aged stout
Opaque pour, somewhat on the light side for a barrel aged stout, more towards burgundy red than brown.
Light tan head that dissipates quickly, leaving behind a thin lacing. Smells of rum, barrel and faintly of dried fruit (figs, raisins).
Tastes sweet and bitter at the same time, the rum barrel ageing present, but not overwhelming. Dark chocolate, raisins, figs. The alcohol gives it a bit of a spiciness, as well as warmth. The aftertaste is bitter, the mouthfeel a bit too rough due to the high carbonation.
