Draught at the Delirium Amsterdam, dark and creamy, served in a big 'ol Viven goblet. No lace, tan collar.
Smell is stale coffee, with chocolate, caramel and nougut, as well as a little dishwasher. Dark chocolate grows pronounced as it warms.
Taste is heavy coffee, very bright in that regard. Otherwise loads of bakers chocolate, some caramel. A touch of sharp acridness.
Mouthfeel is on the heavier side, a slipperyness about it, but a sharp dry spritzyiness as well.
Drinakability is ok. The coffee shines, but there are some rough edges and off notes, under what is a heavy brew.

Pours dark chocolate into a glass from a bottle. Large tan head - three - four fingers high - which leaves chunky lacing on the sides.
Aroma of boozy expresso, bittersweet cocoa, leather and ash. Flavour of burnt baker's chocolate, anise expresso, chicory, leather and weedy vegetative bitters. There's a definate coffee bean acidity on the palate which makes things a little too tart for my tastes.
Feel is medium, a little thin for a porter, with decent levels of carbonation. Smooth on the front, wet on the back.
Overall it's a decent American-style porter; I prefer mine more bitter and rich than fruity and smoky-sweet but it's still well made.

330ml bottle - their base porter, brewed with some fancy-schmancy coffee from Columbia.
This beer pours a pretty solid black, with subtle basal cola highlights, and two fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat bubbly brown head, which leaves a bit of pitted limestone cliff lace around the glass as it quickly dissipates.
It smells of bittersweet cocoa powder, gently roasted caramel malt, earthy artisanal ground coffee beans, a hint of anise spice, minor milky notes, and some very understated earthy, leafy, and perfumed floral green hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy caramel malt, a touch of free-range char, sexy barista-made cafe-au-lait, bitter chocolate shavings, Scandihoovian licorice candies, and more weak leafy, weedy, and musky floral verdant hoppiness.
The carbonation is quite meek in its insouciant-seeming frothiness, the body a solid medium weight, and actually rather smooth, with a wee airy creaminess sneaking in once things warm up a tad around here. It finishes off-dry, the cocoa, coffee, and caramel all under the yoke of an otherwise beneficent alcohol warming.
Overall, this is certainly one very well-made coffee porter, with the guest beans really keeping the typical java acridity to a minimum. Robust, and rounded in just a way that makes this cuppa-joe agnostic feel like he can play along at home. Good, good stuff!

Dark brown color with mocha head. Aroma has nice, fresh roasted coffee, cold brew and roasted malt. Taste is balanced, like a slightly sweetened fresh rost coffee. More bitter and roasty on the finish with some cacao notes. Medium body, quite smooth mouthfeel. Overall it's a really well made coffee porter.
