Got this one at the Duvel Guy in Utrecht
From a bottle into a snifter

Rrye Wine Aged in American Rye Whisky barrels
APPEARANCE: Pours a 1+ finger, medium-thicker looking, creamy off-white head with excellent retention. Deep maroon red/brown, transparent, with medium levels of carbonation up the middle. Head slowly recedes to a full cap. A good wisp remains leaving solid lacing down the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Medium nose of spicy rye, whisky, oak, toffee, caramel, butterscotch, vanilla and a touch of alcohol. Nice.
TASTE: Spicy rye, oak, whisky, toffee sweetness and some alcohol up front. Nice spicy oak and rye at the swallow with a bold and lingering finish of vanilla, caramel and toffee sweetness, butterscotch, charred oak, rye, whisky and some alcohol. Very nice.
PALATE: Medium-fuller body and medium levels of carbonation. Somewhat creamy on the palate, goes down fine and finishes somewhat sticky. Some heat lingers.
OVERALL: Just as good as it was on tap at Borefts back in 2017. Really nice base beer with lovely barrel character and finished off with a solid feel and look. Besides the odd mess up here and there, these guys are quickly becoming the best barrel aged beer producer on the continent. Creativity with adjuncts and barrel stuff reminds me of Cycle in the US. Solid stuff all around.

Hazy dark amber color with beige head. Aroma has toffee, caramel, some spicy rye and brown sugar. Taste is sweet and first, syrupy, sugary but gets more spicy and earthy with some wood bitterness on the finish. Medium plus body, syrupy, soft carbonation. Really well made and tasty with good barrel character.
