Pours a deep dark-brown color with a medium top off beige head that dissolves quickly. Aroma is of roasted malts, chocolate , coffee, licorice, ripe dark fruits, vanilla, bourbon and wood. The taste is heavy roasted with strong notes of coffee and chocolate that is ballanced with sweet dark fruit and bourbon notes. It then finishes with strong burned wood notes with some slight bitterness that leaves a long and strong aftertaste. The finish could be more complex.
Mouthfeel is soft and silky with a medium carbonation and a full body.
A really nice and tasty brown ale, but i feel this is more like a imperial stout.
