Got this one from the Duvel guy in Utrecht
From a bottle into a snifter
Best before 07 January 2022
Imperial porter brewed with Belyzian chocolate and flamed orange zest aged in Mezcal barrels
APPEARANCE: Clear dark brown pour yields a 2+ finger, medium looking, fizzy light tan head with good retention. Clear black body with loads of carbonation evident. Piles of it. Head recedes ever so slowly, eventually reaching a full, foamy cap and clinging to the glass. Full, splotchy wisp remains leaving sheets of sticky lacing down the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Oaky aromas, with vanilla, caramel and butterscotch notes and some alcohol.
TASTE: Some wood flavors, alcohol, light hints of vanilla and milk chocolate up front, with some decent spirit at the swallow. Bold and lingering finish of wood, alcohol, vanilla, milk chocolate and hints of caramel or butterscotch sweetness. Wood and spirit heavy.
PALATE: Medium-fuller body with medium carbonation. Creamy and full on the palate, goes down goes down fine with no real burn and finishes somewhat sticky. Some decent heat lingers.
OVERALL: While Mezcal barrels certainly aren’t the most sought after for aging beer, this works just fine. The base porter is rich enough and the barrel lends mostly woody and spirit character to the beer. The initial carbonation explosion off the pour is a little out of place, but once it calms down, this is actually decently attractive and enjoyable. Worth checking out if you’re a Pohjala fan. Cheers!

Dark brown color with tan head. Aroma has dark, slightly smoked malts, dark chocolate and some coffee. Taste follows with sweetened coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malt bitterness on the finish. Medium body and carbonation. The barrel character is not very intense but it rounds out the beer very well.
