Copenhagen 27/8 2020. 33 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv. Weird pattern in foil on the label.

Pours opaque, dark brown with a small beige head. Settles as thin patch of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer.

Aroma is medium intense with a sweet odor of lactose and coffee. Lactic sweetness, chocolate and toffee. Light bitterness of sweetened coffee. Vanilla.

Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, soft yet tingling texture.

Flavor is intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a medium strong coffee bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a bitter undercurrent. Lingering. Finish is sweet vanilla.

The sweet version of coffee and milk.

A brewery I'm very fond of. I first had their beers in Tallinn, Estonia, in 2017, and was blown away by how good they can be. I pick one up whenever I see them now. I particularly like their stouts and Baltic porters. This one is apparently a bit older, and the pour shows it with a thin head and little carbonation. Same with the aroma- a bit of faded vanilla, licorice, and roast. Luckily, the flavor is still there, with a lovely roasted coffee note at the base, with nice pure vanilla notes floating above. Carbonation is still there, but as the beer opens, it fades a bit. The finish is silky smooth. In its prime, I'll bet this was an absolute knockout. It still clings to its past glory.

i not going to toot my own horn here, but i recently was floored by a couple of beers from these guys and committed to buying every one i see that i have not previously had, somehow ive had like three in the last week or two, rare beer yeah, but im getting it done. also, ive said these guys remind me of de molen in the sense that everything is dark and strong, all of it is so hearty and nordic and big, and all of it is so unique, both to itself and from itself, and equating this brewery to de molen is to say that its amazing, superb, unequivocal. in any event, this one is special too, even if it tastes a little old now, im glad i found it, these bottles can be unassuming. its predictably dark with a high mocha head that settles too fast, fizzy but not as thick as the others ive had, looks good though, some sediment in the bottom, fish food even, but this has come a long way, has been in the bottle probably for a long time, and i can forgive that in this context pretty easily. there is some almost burnt character to it in the nose, like strongly so, barrel char even without barrel treatment, oats for sure in the nose too, which you dont think about as having a smell, until you pick it out of a beer like this and then its unmistakable, and some cool yeastiness too. the vanilla and coffee are somewhat subdued, especially by american standards, i get trace acidity and quite a bit of bitterness in the flavor from the coffee, which is on its way to being oxidized now, but still is cool here, darkly roasted and sympathetic with the grain, so roasty there too. meanwhile the vanilla is sweet, the beer feels alcoholic and thin, and there is an obvious past its prime vibe, despite still being fully redeemable and cool, ill never fatigue on beers like this, even when the beers themselves are somewhat fatigued, especially from this part of the world. heavy coffee, sweet desserty vanilla, decaying body, light green pepper, charcoal, milk and dark baking chocolate, root beer, something english. its good, but its going fast, just like the head, and it to me overall tastes almost expired, more so as it warms, a shame, but still a lot here to be keen on, and these guys remain my current muse. less than seven bucks and hard to track down, cant really complain, but this is akin to when mikkeller was first taking off and we had to source them from wherever we could, like get those beers at all costs, and in so many instances they were long gone, but my nostalgia for tasting them anyway now makes me sort of like this more, a new pursuit in the same spirit. would love to track down other versions of this one, the base has so much promise...

Nice and smooth with dark malt and light vanilla alongside some light coffee bitterness. It has a good lingering aftertaste and a nice light/medium mouthfeel.

Hot on the heels of the success of their bold, dark and beautiful Baltic Porter, A new latte taste oozes from the brewery of Pohjala. Strong in its effects but holding onto a drinkable status, this beer is again, one for the lovers of all-things-dark.

Much like the original, The Vanilla Latte Must Kulk Pours a similarly dark, bark brown, Must Kuld releases a rich lather of mocha whipped foam and then further entice the senses with a medley of coffee, cream, cocoa, nuttiness and vanilla. Malty sweet and robustly toasted, the beer's early palate is a bounty of whipping cream, brown sugar, toffee, baker's chocolate and nougat.

Rich, creamy and firm in its malt structure, the billowing toasted grains bring a masculine taste of bittersweet chocolate, french pressed coffee, blackened pecan and slightly burnt toast. Scorched cream and light caramel align in balance before a mildly fruity, boozy character closes with hints of sherry, cappuccino and plum for complexity and charm.

A lightly bittered finish adds another nuance of broad and woodsy hops for continued balance while the robust and full bodied porter flirts with stout-like status. Creamy, lush and spicy with kahlua, the porter trails into a long and malty aftertaste with coffee latte leading the way.

De Labirratorium. En copa Teku. Jugando a Wonder Boy The Dragon's Trap. Cafe con bastante presencia de la vainilla, a un nivel lo suficientemente bien ajustado como para no saturar nada
