dope beer and sick packaging, imperial gose is a cool style, tons of real cherry in this to the extent that its almost kriek, wild enough too to almost pass off as that. a stunner of a reddish color, some haze and body but a stained glass look and a lot of head, frothed up, jewel ruby tones, clear as these go but still malty. some sourness right away, tart with sour cherry juice from the bottle, cranberry, white pepper spice, licorice, and white wine, wow. mouthwatering and definitely salty and wheaty too, really compelling, funky to me too, not just clean sourness, more to the ferment. the flavor is real cherry forward, tangy and concentrated, slightly vinous, rich without being sweet, wonderful fruit saturation. tart but not too sour to drink, well hidden alcohol too, no sign of it being strong at all, but it does have a little more texture and weight to it than most. the salt is there but kind of subtle and all on the finish, the grain is fluffy but the flavor is cherries first, some lemony sourness, and an almost saison character from the yeast, more than just lactic, which adds some cool complexity to this. the cherry character is awesome, the end is dry for how fruity it is, and this has a creamy frothy feel with nice carbonation. really lovely execution here, impressive overall quality, so glad i found a can of this, pohjala continues to blow my mind every time i score one of their beers...

 

Deep orange-red, bordering on maroon. No head. Aroma of cotton candy. Slightly sharp, slightly sweet taste of berries. A fun, serviceable gose, noteworthy for its ABV.
