Dark brown color with light passing only on the extreme edge of the glass. Little head that fades completely leaving no lace.
Oddly, I smell a lemon-like soda like Spirits or 7-Up initially. This smell runs counter to the appearance. It’s a good smell but has none of the darker malt elements.
This beer in a blindfolded tasting would be described as golden malt with ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Only in the swallow do darker malts show up. The effervescence is here but so is the richer body. This is an unusual beer with many twists and turns in the tasting. With a13% abv, I’m stunned to feel the alcohol only in the aftertaste.
