8 ball black with a surprisingly short tan head quickly dying to a thin chain.
A solid roast brings molasses and near espresso earth countered by a hint of banana and licorice ester in the slightly warming exhale.

Bottle at Canarias Brew, served in a standard glass.
Black colour, no head or lacing.
Aroma of chocolate, licorice, cinnamon, vanilla, roasted malts, bitter almonds.
Medium to full body, sticky texture, flat carbonation. Sweet finish.
Taste follows the aroma, with nutmeg and haba tonka.
Another wonderful one from Pohjala.

Smooth malty highly drinkable. One of the best Baltic Porters I've ever had. Super black brown. Decent head, scattered lacing.
Nose of dark fruits and rich sweet roasted malts.
Superb flavor. Chocolate, coffee, figs, raisins mild plum and prunish notes. An intriguing herbal spiciness. Peppery finish had low bitterness
Syrupy feel with mild carbonation. Easy drinking
Exceptional beer. Love this

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a half finger dark khaki head that dissipates to a thick film with slippery solid lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, hints of cocoa and cinnamon, coffee and well dried plums. When first poured there was a distinct candied cherry note, but it did not persist. Flavor is dark toasted malt, coffee, cherry chocolate, licorice and cinnamon. Lingering exotic cinnamon taste with a little vanilla. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. I expect a solid Baltic porter from Põhjala and once again they came through. Fine dark fruit notes as well as coffee and chocolate. There are very interesting, but mellow notes of vanilla and particularly cinnamon, both associated with the bison grass used in this porter. It makes a some exotic, but pleasant addition. Apparently this is a rare grass native to Poland, so I don't expect to taste it in the future, but be happy to for its subtle taste again. Very nicely done from one of my favorite breweries.

Had on tap. I had never heard of bison grass until I had this beer, but it must be good because this is a flavorful yet nuanced Baltic Porter. Pitch black opaque body with a sustained light brown head. Big anise, licorice, slight cinnamon and bakers dark chocolate lead the nose with very lightly roasted malt in the background. Taste has a bit of booziness added to the proceedings, otherwise a clone of the nose. Feel is velvet smooth, booze is there but never leading, has some residual herbal sweetness. Pohjala does another baltic porter! Really enjoyed this!

De OkassionalBeer. En copa Teku. Leyendo Blazor in Action. Birrote, bastante tostado pero con una reconfortante calidez alcoholica

Appearance - dark mahogany body with tan head
Smell - roasted coffee bean, dark chocolate, black licorice
Taste - black licorice, dark chocolate, roasted coffee bean
Mouthfeel - medium plus bodied, medium carbonation, roasted/bitter sensation upfront, dark chocolate and black licorice on the back end
Overall - this was a decent example of a Baltic Porter, I would have liked to have seen more balance in the flavors, comes across as more bitter than other examples, but decent nonetheless.

Pours smooth fizzy pitch black, with dark tan head.
Smell is toasty bitter coffee and chocolate
Taste is the same. Very clean in the taste.
Feel is medium bodied with noticeable carbonation, perfectly appropriate for the style.
Nice roasty bitter Baltic porter.
