Back of the cupboard discovery, I think this was purchased at the Tibb street old location of Beermoth around Christmas time, things being still up in the air with Julie's health and hospital stay.
Brought out tonight with my son's blip at his museum position. Some tan head on a very very very dark brown body with a bit of caramel in the aroma and a deft touch of coconut on the flavour, lots of Booze on both and a solid body.

Poured into a Stone Gargoyle flute. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass, with a quarter finger khaki head that dissipates to a thin, persistent film with nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, bakers chocolate, vanilla, a little caramel and licorice. Flavor is dark toasted malt, vanilla, dark chocolate, molasses, rye whiskey and a touch of coconut. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess; nice mouth feel. A rich, flavorful stout that has the deep malt flavor I want from an RIS. There is a light coconut flavor, probably from the coconut sugar, which also gives a moderate sweetness; the flavor is like a dessert stout, but fortunately not as sweet. The flavors work very nicely together and there are a lot of complex notes to add interest. Another delicious stout from Põhjala. Very enjoyable.

Bottle. Colour is onyx with no head at all. Nose is redolent of molasses and treacle with hints of turbinado syrup and bittersweet chocolate sauce. The palate is full and well rounded with lightly cloying hits at the start . Molasses abounds on the front of the palate along with Brooks prunes, earthy cassis, oak stave and dark toffee. The ethanol hits squarely on the back palate as it volatises in the sinuses. The finish is long, bitter at the edges and gripping.

330 ml black waxed bottle, as Põhjala / Lervig Faraway Friends (Cellar Series) BA Imperial Stout, from Vinmonopolet Stavanger Hinna. ABV is 13.4%. Pitch black colour, small tan head. Boozy aroma of molasses, fusel, caramel, vanilla, chocolate and coconut. Insanely sweet flavour with the same elements. Won't buy again.

Pulled from the cellars of Pohjala, their collaboration with Lervig brings us an imperial stout of coconut and rye proportions.

Faraway Friends kicks off with an inky, tawny-black pour, releasing a trace of froth and an overwhelming aroma of whisky soaked sugars, coffee liqueur, chocolate and molasses. Decadently smooth and rich, espresso roast is soothed with chocolate syrup and whisky nuances of coconut, cream and candied nuttiness. Trailing into an oaken balance with the added grit of rye barrels, the session is sweet, sassy and peppery.

Full bodied, gently cloying and drinking like port wine, the session is best saved for after dinner digestive or replacement for dessert.

De OkassionalBeer. En copa Teku. Con almendras naturales. Jugando a Prince of Persia y viendo curso de ITIL 4. Agradable perfil a Bourbon y madera donde el alcohol solo proporciona calidez pero no afecta al sabor, que queda bastante redondo

Poured at fridge temp I let this warm up for a while in the glass. Pours motor oil black with basically zero head. The nose is chocolate, vanilla, coconut, slight roasted malts, and rye.

The taste is fantastic. Tobacco, black licorice, black strap molasses, slight coffee ground, burnt vanilla, coconut, maple, burnt toffee, and nice spicy rye barrel. Wow. Really fantastic stout.

The mouthfeel is medium to thick, with a coffee/toffee aftertaste.
