a beer that smells and tastes pretty good, but is overall of somewhat lower quality. the base brown ale is basically irrelevant, as simple and sort of uneventful as it gets, all the right elements but nothing at all to set it apart. its saved and also damned by all the flavor. i like the heavy vanilla in here, its candy-esque, but natural enough to despite the sweetness, and the coffee is the needed balancing roasted bitter aspect, between the two of them, it works, but it also serves to make the beer seem over flavored and cheap, so its hit or miss depending on what the drinker prefers. to me its a little plastic, but i do respect the balance between the coffee and the vanilla, as bold as they are. i wish the base beer had a little more body and a little more life and a bit less sugar, its thin and sort of stripped down, it wouldnt be much without the additives here, and that to me is never an appealing way to make a beer good. overall this is too sweet to drink a bunch of and sort of contrived for me, but its not bad, and is far from the worst thing we had in here...
