a shockingly flavorful stout for how low alcohol it is, a mexican chocolate beer, maybe an overdone concept now, but usually they are huge and in whiskey barrels, so i appreciate this being lighter and more drinkable, they did a good job of that in here. obviously some cinnamon and some bitter chocolate, a cocoa nib thing, organic and dark and earthen to me, no real sweetness to this at any point. i get a light heat as well, not sure if there is actually chili in this, but it feels like maybe as its going down, some smoke nuance, a vanilla suggestion, and even a note of cola as it warms, pretty interesting stuff, but well subtle too, its a stout first and drinks like the low alcohol beer that it is, i could use more carbonation, but that was true of others here, and it really doesn detract from the overall experience. good flavor, fast finishing, drier than it seems possible to be, and with the stout coming ahead of the additives as an overall impression. the innovative beers here arent just novelty items, they are beers you actually want to drink. i was skeptical of this, but is rules. these guys are on it!
