Our take on the Great American Creamsicle. A crisp Kölsch backbone with intense orange and vanilla aromas from the addition hand zested orange peel and whole vanilla beans. These flavors blend together in such sweet nostalgic harmony, you can almost hear the ice cream truck coming down the street. Scrounge up some change, and enjoy a refreshing Creamsikölsch on a hot Summer’s day, there’s nothing better.

I am trying this beer off the tapper at The Daily Growler in Powell, Ohio as part of a six sample flight. It poured a hazy golden with thin white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had subtle malt and orange notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet malt base good vanilla and orange flare. The mouthfeel was lighter in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Light, creamy, smooth and most of all, refreshing. Not an attractive looking beer, pale, murky, and low head retention. so just knock it down and enjoy.

12 ounce can, no canning date I could find but I'm pretty sure this was from the most recent release within the past month or so. Label says 5.3% ABV. Served in a Land Grant pint glass, the beer pours a cloudy golden/orange color with about an inch white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like a creamsicle, like orange, vanilla, orange peel and bready/grainy malt. Taste is just like the aroma, with orange, vanilla, orange peel and bready/grainy malt flavors. Tastes like a bready creamsicle if that makes sense. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's creamy and smooth with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought it was a good summer brew, worth picking up if you're into creamsicles!

This beer shows as retired, but it's a seasonal. I had it this evening and it was refreshing, a great summer beer. However, I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant based on the play "creamsicle", but the orange and vanilla flavors were subtle. The color was a nice golden with a slight head. As mentioned the flavors were subtle as were their scents when smelling the beer. The beer was pleasant on the palate as well. All around great beer.

Had this on draft last night and I'd have to say it's one of the best beers I've had recently. Sounds like a dessert beer, but honestly you could drink it all night. A little cloudy, but nice frothy head. The flavor/aroma are dominated by orange and vanilla, with some hop bitterness barely making its presence known. It's nicely balanced, not sweet but not really dry. A true summer beer. Hope to see this one in cans at some point!

Ordinarily I am not a fan of Kolsch style beers, but this Kolsch is fan-effing-tabulous. Truly lives up to its name. This beer has an intense drinkability. The Vanilla and cream dominate and amaze. Great beer. Period.
