Can dated 1/12/19, I think. CBF Tulip pint.
A: pours a pretty dark copper with a little haze and a big finger of off-white head. Some small streams of carbonation. Head lingers, but no lacing to speak of.
S: really floral. Smells like alpha king. Sweet, sugary, floral hops. Sweet honeyed malt background.
T: arrives fairly sweet, some of that floral taste on mid palate, followed by a lingering piney bitterness. Astringent bitter finish, but not over the top - definitely a pale ale, not an IPA. Heavy on the hops, but not unbalanced.
M: solidly mid weight, more carbonated than it looks, sticky finish, but less viscous than even the afore-mentioned Alpha King.
O: they really sell this on the pine, but I get a more floral plus sweet malt character. Similar to Alpha King and 5am Saint, but those two are more amber ales, this is more solidly in the pale category with its crisper texture. I like this a lot more than I thought I would. Plan on buying again. Would pair well with food; bold, but not overpowering.

1/12/18...pours copper red medium dark, and with some white foam. Malt and grain nose, but faint. Light pine bitter. Smooth. Flows throughout. Earthy. Nicely carbonated. Well balanced. Nice brew.

I got a six pack of this from the beer store around the corner. It poured a clear copper with white head that is leaving a nice ring lace. The scent had bitter hops. The taste was bitter leaning and not overly easy to drink. The finish has grapefruit like sourness. The mouthfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's an ok beer.

Spicy, well balanced brew. Asked for one goal - 1 rye'd in the Land Grant taproom, but since it is not avail until fall, Goon was suggested.
This beer bites back on the first couples of swigs, but as the menu suggests, just keep swinging!

Great looking brew. Strong ales aren't always my thing but this one could make me a believer. Brown/orange color with a thin head that laces well. Sweet caramel with a nice hop balance. Body is about right, maybe a tad thing but not much.

12 ounce can, canned on 161004 so it's 10 days old. I tried this for the first time at Blue Jackets games last season, and it's nice to see this finally canned and for sale in local stores. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a hazy amber/orange color with about an inch off-white head that stayed around for a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. The brew smells like piney hops along with some bready and caramel malt. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also a candied orange flavor noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. I think it's a good pale ale, hope it will be available all hockey season long this year. $9.99 a 6-pack.
