Boom is a deep, dark Schwarzbier inspired ale brewed to celebrate Independence Day. A variety of dark roasted malts provide a black, night-sky canvas for your 4th of July fireworks. However, this being a celebration and all, Boom is a lighter bodied drinker with aromas of caramel, dark fruit, and toffee. A malt forward flavor with notes of raisin and dark chocolate make this beer perfect for enjoying once the sun sets.

12 ounce can, canned on June 28, 2016. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a dark brown color with some reddish tints, along with about an inch or so tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The brew smells like caramel, toffee, dark fruit and dark breadiness. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some bittersweet chocolate noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and easy to drink wtih a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was an enjoyable brew, a nice "schwarzbier inspired ale" as Land Grant calls it. Nice to see this as a summer release, hopefully they'll bring this back next year. I won't have any any problems finishing this 6-pack! $9.99 a sixer.
