From a growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate. This decent little dubbel pours a
medium dark ruby mahogany with a modest had of off white foam that settles
to a thin ring. Nose of brown sugars, subtle cola notes, and dark berry notes of
black berries and subtle peach. Flavors lightly exceed the nose with brown sugars
meshed with black berry and bruised peaches with a light malbec wine note that is
intertwined with subtle herbal notes and a touch of herbal hops mingling with biscuit
malts. Decent mouth feel; lightly warming, low carbonation, and a lightly dry finish
that is a touch thin for the style.
Solid shot at the style, could use a touch of yeasty goodness in there adding to the
mouth feel but all in all a decent offering from a great newer brewer in the Columbus
area.
Cheers
