Combining the spirit of Old Mexico with a little big city panache, Urban Sombrero is a cover-worthy Mexican Style Lager brewed for early summer sipping. Liberty hops provide a floral bouquet and hint of spice to this classic brew. Best enjoyed ice cold in the shade on a hot day, no lime necessary. Vaya con Dios.

A: The beer is light yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high white head.
S: Light aromas of adjuncts are present in the nose.
T: The taste has light flavors of corn adjuncts along with notes of grainy malts. No bitterness is detectable, although there are just enough hops to mask any sweetness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink and isn’t as adjuncty compared to other beers in the style.

I got a can of this off the single shelf from my local Giant Eagle. It poured a clear golden with very thin white head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had grain presence. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bread biscuit finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

Can stamped "Vandelay" and dated 170501. Sam Adams glass.
A: pours a slightly hazy gold with one finger of white head that quickly recedes to small bits of foam. Roiling carbonation! Man is this thing fizzing away. Way too light to be a Vienna lager; perhaps American premium lager.
S: lager yeast and some mild vague citrus. Pretty muted, apart from really smelling like lager yeast. To my nose it lacks the graininess that I sometimes associate with lagers.
T: arrives bready and slightly sweet, transitions to that same lager yeast and citrus taste across the middle. Toward the end it turns a little herbal, staying bready and sweet, though. Lingering sourdough sweetness on the palate.
M: heavier side of medium bodied with less of the wateriness I associate with lagers. Slick on the finish.
O: It is a lager, and a good one at that, but it is not knocking any socks off. would go well with food, but I would like a little cleaner finish and some more characterful malts.
