This Pilsner takes its traditional base south of the equator with the addition of Summer and Wakatu—hops known for their subtle aromas of tropical fruit and citrus—creating a highly drinkable and incredibly refreshing beer. So, when the weather heats up, throw on some sunscreen, hide your wallet in your shoe, grab a pils, and dive in head first.

This pilsner also has Waimea & Pacifica hops.
Medium light gold look. Oddly spiced hop aroma, with a slightly sour spice tinge. A bit bitter, via the hop bite, with a light toasted malt flavor in the background.
IBU: 28

I got a 6pck of this beer from my local Meijer store. It poured a clear golden with thin white head with spotty lace. The scent had roast corn husk presence. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with grain and corn flare. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a great beer.

ABLE 2018. Gold with a strong head. Ripe tropical fruit nose. Firm Pilsner body and APA strength hoppiness. More creamy than crisp. A filling Pils.

Can dated 180524. Fresh! Pilsner glass.
A: pours a hazy pale yellow with one finger frothy white head and streaming carbonation. The only knock is the haze; I like my lagers clear!
S: Fresh out of the fridge I get a little floral, almost soapy hop. Very traditional, but amped up. As it warms a little crisp Pilsner malt comes through.
T: On the arrival, crisp, clean, and too hoppy. That is pretty much par for the course with Land Grant. Whatever the IBUs, add ten. This tastes like Prima pils, which I know is a compliment to many, but not me.
M: light, crisp, refreshing. More reminiscent of a German pils in texture than a Czech one. Carbonation is not as high on the tongue as on the eye.
O: Don’t get me wrong, I like this beer. But it really should be viewed as an American take on a German pils. Very hoppy, very refreshing. But it lacks the malt body I associate with Bohemian pilsners, and lacks that slightly sulfur note I crave. The head was epic and lasted all the way to the bottom of the glass. In terms of texture, this is probably the best or second best lager I’ve had from a Columbus brewer. But I think I’ll take Great Lakes turntable over this six times out of seven. This is a laid back style, turned intense.

Pours gold. Foamy, medium, white head that lasts shortly.
Smells citrus, grainy, grassy, citrus peel and bready.
Tastes grassy, citrus peel, bready malt, grain. Finish is dry with a grassy and grainy linger. Medium body and light fizzy carbonation.
