Excellent ale. I prefer the taste of ale over lager. Great brew for any occasion.

Can, no date. Land Grant Tulip.
A: pours a reddish amber hue (duh) with 1 finger off-white head that leaves swirls of a cap and fair lacing.
S: sweet malt with a floral citrusy overtones, perhaps cascade hops?
T: arrives slightly sweet, malty, with a notable but not overpowering citrus rind presence. Finishes fairly clean, but with a lingering green hop bite.
M: it really stands out how rich but at the same time clean this feels. That is the essence of a good amber ale - rich but clean. So many fail but this one gets it right! I want to buy more of it just for that.
O: I find that Ambers come in three styles, those that are wildly over-hopped, those that are cloyingly sweet and sticky, and then ones like this - that demonstrate balance and finesse. These beers are good on their own or great with food; really beer as it was intended to be consumed, brought to a higher level. Great stuff.

I got this off the single shelf from my local Giant Eagle. It poured a clear amber with thin white head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had faint caramel malt presence. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet malt base and slight bitter hop highlights. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.
