16 ounce can, the dating is smudged but it says it looks like it was canned 2020-12-16. Another big thanks to Brutaltruth for this one! Served in a Teku, the beer pours a hazy orange/amber color with about an inch off-white head that stuck around for a while. Good amount of lacing, too. The brew smells like vanilla, bourbon, oak, caramel and bready/grainy malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some herbal and stone fruit flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's slick and smooth with a moderate amount of carbonation. Easy enough to drink. I liked this bourbon barrel aged amber ale, wish I would have got to try it fresher but it's still tasty now!

From the 16 oz can in a snifter. This solid amber pours a nice medium
dark amber with a fantastic head of off white foam that settles to a big
fat clumping layer with fantastic lacing. Nose of bourbon, vanilla,
rich caramel and butterscotch, light oak, and light herbal notes with touches
of orchard fruits of peach and cherry. Flavors follow the nose nicely with
bourbon, vanilla, light oak, subtle peach elements, light herbal hop hints,
and rich caramel that is not at all cloying. Nice mouth feel; medium body,
light zippy carbonation, and a medium warm and lightly sweet finish that
is moderately dry.

Overall---an excellent brew from a great little brewery!

Cheers

Canned on 12/16/20. 16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours an amber with a subtle haze but there's some clarity to it as well; fluffy light khaki head that falls leaving great retention and sticky lacing. The aromas have have a nice blend of bourbon, caramel and dark fruits. Some cherries coming through. Malts are there. The flavors follow the nose. Everything is bold but remains balanced. More caramel along with some toffee. Some raisins and plums coming through. More cherries in the mix. The bourbon really comes through without completely dominating. The bourbon accentuates everything that's going on. Strong malt backbone. Subtle warmth in the finish, but it's not hot or boozy at all. Mouthfeel is nice. It's full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy, creamy, smooth and ultimately dangerously drinkable.

This is a really nice barrel-aged brew. This is my first beer from Land-Grant, so they made a pretty good first impression. It's big and bold but remains balanced. They seem to know what they're doing with the barrels. The craftsmanship is on point. Well done. I really like it.
