From the 16 oz can in a snifter via Bluejacket74!!! Cheers Dude!
This robust beast pours a beautiful coal black with a very nice head of
brown foam that settles to a thick ring and layer with exceptional lacing.
Nose of dark berries, tamarind, dark chocolate, spicy chilies, and char.
Flavors exceed the nose with char laden dark chocolate, dark coffee, tamarind,
dark cherry, raspberry, toffee, and deep brulee. Nice mouth feel; full body,
smooth, slick, coating, rich, and finishing warm and with a bitter malt ending.
Overall.....excellent!
What I expected....no.....what I hoped for.....YES!
Equal the sum of it's odd parts!
Cheers

16 ounce can, no dating on it that I noticed but I'm pretty sure this was released for their 7th Anniversary party last month. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like chiles, tamarind, burnt/charred malt, dark bread and dark chocolate. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some coffee and dark berry flavors noticeable too. Peppery flavor kicks in more as it warms, but the chile heat is minimal. Wish they would have used a spicier pepper. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's smooth and slick with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought it was a good overall brew, worth trying if you get the chance!
