From the 16 oz can in a snifter via Bluejacket74---Cheers Dude!
This solid imperial verging on a pastry pours a dark obsidian with
a very nice head of brown foam that settles to a thick ring, thin layer, and
sports excellent lacing. Nose is good but muted---dark chocolate, sweet
malts, nutty malts (walnuts), char, and honey sweet malts. Flavors hit the
mark with pistachio, walnut, honey, dark coffee, dark bakers chocolate,
char, brulee, and dark fruit hints. Nice mouth feel; full body, smooth, rich,
coating, medium light edging towards light carbonation that aids nicely with
some needed lift, and a nice bitter malt finish that is sweet but not overly cloying.
Overall----another WOW brew from a great brewery!
Cheers

16 ounce can, no dating on it that I noticed but I'm pretty sure this was released for their 7th Anniversary party last month. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half tan head that stuck around a while. Lots of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like walnuts, honey, pistachios, burnt/charred malt, chocolate and some coffee. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some dark chocolate and dark bready flavors. With that being said it's more sweet than roasty/bitter tasting although the flavors did start to balance out more as the brew warmed up. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's smooth and a bit coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was good, worth picking up if you're into baklava or just imperial stouts in general!
