From the 16 oz can in a snifter---Big thanks to Bluejacket74 for this one!
This solid brew pours a dark and murky blackish brown with a nice head
of brown foam that settles to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and shows some
nice light lacing. Nose of strawberry, cocoa, coffee, and vanilla with hints
of char. Flavors follow with dark cocoa, strawberry, vanilla, coffee touches,
char, and a lot of dark roasted malts. Nice mouth feel; full slick body, smooth,
rich, coating, light carbonation, and a sweet bitter malt finish.
Of note, there are other berry notes, black and blueberry with some raspberry
as well with warmth.
Overall---a solid brew from a great brewery!
Cheers

16 ounce can, no dating on it that I noticed but I'm pretty sure this was released for their 7th Anniversary party last month. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half frothy tan head. Head retention and lacing are both pretty good. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like vanilla, cocoa, strawberry, roasted malt and a bit of coffee. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some dark bread and tart dark berry flavors noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's slick and easy enough to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this brew, but I didn't care for the slight tart berry flavor. It still had the neapolitan flavor but I didn't think the tart flavor fit in well. Think if that wasn't around I'd like this one more. But it's still worth a try for sure!
