From the 16 oz can in a snifter via Bluejacket74----Cheers Dude!
This solid imperial pours a dark coal black with a very nice head of
long lasting light brown foam that settles to a thick ring, thin clumping
layer, and sports some nice lacing. Nose of maple, char, smoke, dark
bakers cocoa, and dark coffee notes with nice touches of dark fruits.
Flavors surpass the nose nicely with dark cocoa, char, maple, smoke,
earthy malts, dark fruit hints, brulee notes, and dark coffee. Nice mouth
feel; medium full body, light carbonation, smooth for the style, and finishing
lightly dry and with a nice lingering bitter malt finish.

Overall----for a smoked brew, a style I am usually not a huge fan of, this one is a beast!
Then again, it's not like Land Grant makes a bad brew! Perfectly balanced!

Cheers

16 ounce can, no dating on it that I noticed but I'm pretty sure this was released for their 7th Anniversary party last month. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch or so tan head that stuck around a while. There's lots of lacing, too. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like smoked malt, maple, burnt/charred malt, oak and coffee. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some dark bread, coffee and caramel flavors. Nice amount of smoke and maple but they don't overpower the other flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's coating and smooth with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this brew a lot, it's my favorite of the Batch 1000 brews! Nice set of stouts that's certainly worth picking up if you're able to!
