12oz can, date stamp of 13:06 2022-01-05. Served in a Bitburger Rastel 0.2l pokal glass.
Appearance: Very dark brown, almost black, letting little to no light through at the edges. Thick tan head with find strands of persistent lacing.
Smell: Piney, roasted malt.
Taste: A complex blend of bittersweet chocolate, piney hops, roasted malts, a tiny bit of ash, and a fair bit of bitterness. It all blends together - I'm not finding a start or finish with this beer.
Mouthfeel: Light carbonation, sticky on the teeth.
Overall / Drinkability: Okay - a bit overly bitter such that I think I would only want one per evening, or I need to find the right food to pair it with. Surprisingly, chicken tacos was not a good combination with this beer.

Named in honor of the James Webb Space telescope launch, this Black IPA has a tropical, citrus forward hop sensation that will tantalize your taste buds. A little weak on the cocoa notes and aroma, but still a craft to be had for lovers of this style, especially in the Central Ohio region.
