Brought back for 2018.
Pours to a reddish amber and thin head. Aroma is dark dried fruit, caramelized malt, molasses, alcohol, bread and a slight peat smoked malt note. Flavor reflects the smell perfectly. Balanced and not at all about hops. Mouthfeel is low CO2 and medium viscosity. A fantastic snifter sipping brew.

Super sweet and unbalanced yet not unpleasant. Not much wee heavy around, more like a quad soaked in Canadian whiskey. Would love some smoke and more barrel presence. Boozy, intense. Not great, not for everyone, not what I expected... and yet I enjoyed it

This one was a mess for me. I like what this brewery is doing, but they tried to get adventuress with this and lost some of the subtleties that make this style so good. Totally missed the mark. The smoke, peat, herbal notes are all lost in the overpowering relentless, cloying, sweetness.

Really good stock ale. I am not a huge fan of the style, but this is one of the better versions I have had.

Pours an effervescent caramel with a sliver of cream colored head. Stays effervescent throughout, traces of head retention & lacing
S: Peaty, cakey,
T: Follows the nose, a little toffee as well, a little dryness up front. Peatyness, toffee, dryness & a whisper of leafy & herbal hops, more dryness on the edges as this warms. Finishes dry, cakey, peaty & sweet, with a little leafy hop profile, with a little boozeyness
MF: Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, warming
Drinks pretty easy for the style & heft; going down too easy on a cold, snowy night. Not a total win for the style, but a really good effort, so far these guys are impressing me the most part

Pours a thick tobacco brown from the bottle with no head whatsoever. The aroma is of toffee and bready malts. The taste is similar, with toffee and caramel predominately. There's also a bit of dark fruits in the background. The mouth is medium thick, and it has a bit of creaminess. This is true to the style, and a good one at that.
