500 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 1/2017. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy plums, fruit skin/pits, peach, apricot, pear, red/green apple, lemon, lime, orange, pineapple, mango, melon, berries, white grape/wine, oak, peppercorn, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light leathery/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of plums, fruity/funky/spicy yeast, oak, and pale/wheat notes; with big strength. Taste of huge juicy/tart/tangy plums, fruit skin/pits, peach, apricot, pear, red/green apple, lemon, lime, orange, pineapple, mango, melon, berries, white grape/wine, oak, peppercorn, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light leathery/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate peppery Brett spiciness, and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy plums, fruit skin/pits, peach, apricot, pear, red/green apple, lemon, lime, orange, pineapple, mango, melon, berries, white grape/wine, oak, peppercorn, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light leathery/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of plums, fruity/funky/spicy yeast, oak, and pale/wheat flavors; with a fantastic malt/spiciness and tart/tangy fruit balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering yeast spiciness, tart/tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and fairly acidic/tangy/tannic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol for 6.7%. Overall this is a fantastic fruited Brett saison! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of plums, fruity/funky/spicy yeast, oak, and pale/wheat flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestly tart/spicy/drying finish. Amazingly well rounded Brett/Sasion yeast complexity with balanced juicy plums; nice oak presence and pale/wheat malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing style example. Definitely aged extremely well as expected.
