12 fl oz pull-tab can (sold in 6x12oz format at Biergarten Wine & Spirits, Jenks, Oklahoma).
"Pilsner." 4.5% ABV. Canned 06/30/21.
Maltwise, I'm getting cheap 6-row barley and maybe some corn adjunct? Certainly off-base if the intention was a pilsner, lacking any Noble hop flavour whatsoever and not bringing any crisp clean pilsner malt to the table. Attenuation is subpar; I doubt multidecoction mashing was used.
Has some metallic off-flavour to its obvious detriment. Sharply overcarbonated but not to the point it's unrefreshing. Smooth, wet, minerally.
Drinkable, but not much of a pilsner. Drinks worse than many budget lagers available in Oklahoma, including the usual suspects that see wide distribution. Tastes like an adjunct lager they slapped the word "pilsner" on to move cans...if this is Elk Valley's usual level of quality, I'll have to steer clear going forward.
D+ (2.37) / NOT RECOMMENDED

Tenkiller should be listed as a Pilsner, not an Adjunct Lager. That being said, this is simply FANTASTIC. Elk Valley has been consistently impressing me. Tenkiller has absolute perfect balance and taste - it has that beautiful buttery / nutty taste I love in a properly done Pils. Some of the pilsners out there can have a sort of unwanted grassy taste and smell. Not this.
Unlike the watered down, rice based typical American Adjunct Lagers (Bud, Coors, Miller, etc etc) this is massively flavorful, seems like a higher ABV. Tenkiller delivers all the goodness possible in the style.
Go ahead and drink it nice and cold; this has been my new "go-to" hot weather brew. I used to think the classic German Pilsners were almost untouchable, but not since Tenkiller's been available. I personally love a great Pils and this hits the mark in every way.

Poured from a 12 oz can:
Pours a pale straw color with a bit of haze. White head is decently high, some lacing.
Aroma has lots of corn, herbs, and something citrus that I think might be lemon. There is a bit of a fresh biscuit smell from the malts.
Taste follows the nose. Malty and bready up front, followed by brightness from the herbs, citrus, and hops. It has just the right amount of skunk. Finish is balanced and on the long side.
Mouthfeel is medium to light body with strong carbonation. It has a bite up front. It leaves a bit of a coating on my tongue but not unpleasantly, and not for long.
Overall - I have yet to try a true Pilsner that really blows me away, but this one is still quite good.

Pale yellow with a faint chill haze. Aroma is strong with straw, herb and lemon. Lots of light fruit on the tongue along with peppercorn, herb and pine. Light, tasty and crisp all the way through.
This one has a definite bite. But Tenkiller pils and Lenny Bruce are not afraid.

Brewed with 6 Row Barley and a bit of flaked corn and a good dose of American Hops. A 21st century Classic American Pilsner (pre-prohibition American Pils)
Appearance: Pours to a generous white head with moderate lacing. Nearly clear and medium yellow-gold. There are fine floaties in this.
Aroma: Clean, crackery, biscuity malts and a generous charge of citrusy/spicy american hops. This smells like American all-malt beer.
Flavor: Bready, grainy, malty upfront with spicy/citrusy hops in the middle and a clean, dry, crisp bittersweet finish. Balanced and very tasty. The breadiness makes the beer tastes like it has a bit more alcohol.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium, High CO2 and very low astringency. It has a bite to it that suggests a higher ABV.
Overall: Tastes great, somewhat filling and what Miller Lite wants to be when it grows up. A tasty, crisp session lager for all occasions.
