16oz can
Pours a finger of tan head into my Nonic. Retention is average and the head fades within a minute or two, leaving a pretty decent film that lasts all the way down the glass. Lacing is pretty good. Body is pitch black. Looks quite nice.
Nose is considerably roasty, smells pretty dry. Definitely not for the faint of heart here. Smells nice, though not as balanced as I would want out of a Schwarz.
Flavor is very roasty indeed. This is fine, pretty one dimensional.
Carbonation is pretty high. Body is somewhat thin. The malt is pretty darn dry and bitter. I can handle it, but it’s definitely not a balanced mouthfeel.
Drinkability is ok, it can be a little abrasive at times.
Overall not bad, but definitely a little thin and rough at times.
