355ml single can, part of the current Old Yale winter mixed pack, which has two lagers in it - shaking my head right now.

This beer pours a clear, bright medium golden yellow colour, with two fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and slightly bubbly dirty white head, which leaves a bit of low-lying sudsy cloud form lace around the glass as it quickly abates.

It smells of crackery and biscuity pale malt, a touch of Euro gasohol, subtle pome fruity esters, and some decent leafy, grassy, and spicy noble green hop bitters. The taste is gritty and biscuity pale malt, a further cereal graininess, some minor lemon and white grapefruit pith astringency, and more zingy leafy, grassy, and spicy old-world hop goodness.

The carbonation is quite active in its generally buoying frothiness, the body an adequate middleweight, and more or less smooth, with just a touch of sassy (Saaz, I imagine) hops taking a chunk out of the metric here. It finishes quite dry, the hops and cereal-forward maltiness colluding as such.

Overall, this is one of the better examples of North American brewers emulating the Bohemian style (ahoj, Petrou!) that I have come across in a good while. Edgy, challenging, but in the end, very drinkable - another instance of a single purchase that I might regret, for the not too typical reason.

355ml can poured into tulip 15/5/16

A clear golden yellow liquid, very fine suspended particles being moved around by bubbles of all sizes, just a short lived finger of foam leaves no lace

S lots of spicy, grassy, hops, a little bread and dry cereal but its noble notes for the most part, what I expect from the style

T bang on saaz hops, spicy, herbal, grassy, a touch of sweet grains, its simple but solid

M light bodied, crisp, fairly clean finish with a little spice lingering

O hits the style fairly well, very easy to drink and on a hot day I could smash a 6er of this stuff without getting board

I haven't paid much attention to these guys in the last few years but this is solid example of the style, maybe its worth revisiting some brews from these guys?
