A- Pours a chocolate/cola color that shows no signs of clarity, with garnet colored hues around the outside of the glass. Carbonation is deep tan in coloration, with wee tight bubbles, and plenty of 'em too.....retention is not the best however, as it dissipates rather quickly unfortunately.....as for the lacing, it shows signs of life before flat lining, leaving only an oily looking film around the inside glass. I'm assuming the carbonation is tight and velvety.
S- As the brewery states, oatmeal cookie is the dominant aroma at first, which is closely followed by milk chocolate, mocha coffee, vanilla bean, Earthy darkened malts, and some medium sweet cream and yeast. The finish is slightly dry and dusty. Overall this has a fair bit of what I would expect for a milk/sweet stout.
T- Right off the bat I will say that this is mild in general, however, there are several subtle flavors happening here. There is smooth cream, mashed oats, plain porridge, bittering cocoa nib, chocolate and/or black malt astringency, black coffee, and the finish is of dry Earth and raw oat flakes that do linger on the back of the palate for several minutes....this could also be the hop Fuggles showing its leafy bitter character. Quite nice!
M/O- Smooth tight carbonation compliments the soft medium body! I feel that the drinkability factor is high, and would pair well with cheese, or a chocolate based dessert....reminds me of an 85% or higher piece of dark chocolate, with oatmeal cookie nuances.....alcohol is well hidden as an fyi. Overall this isn't the sweetest dessert stout I've had but leans towards a more traditional style with dessert like qualities. Very nice!!

8oz glass at Beer Revolution YEG Oliver Square - I saw bombers of this a while back, and after looking at the price tag, said hella no! But now...
This beer appears a clear, orange-brick tinted brown colour, with a thin cap of wispy and bubbly beige head, which leaves a few instances of remote islet lace around the glass as things slowly sink away.
It smells of gritty discount store chocolate, bready and doughy caramel malt, a touch of damp ashiness, some bruised pome fruitiness, and plain earthy, musty, and dead floral green hop bitters. The taste is grainy and bready caramel malt, faded bland cocoa powder, ethereal black licorice spice, and more understated earthy, leafy, and musky floral hoppiness.
The carbonation is adequate in its palate-assuring frothiness, the body a so-so medium weight, and generally smooth, with that oatmeal effort kind of seeming phoned-in at this particular juncture. It finishes off-dry, the chocolate giving one last kick at the proverbial cat.
Overall - I am now fully satisfied that I didn't shell out for the larger serving size, either at this establishment, or as previously mentioned. Yeah, there's cocoa happening, but it's bland and ineffectual. Average.

On tap at Bitter, Vancouver.
Tan film over chocolate black. 3.75
Cocoa, a bit of smoke, and sweet roast. 3.75
Oatmeal cookie, sweet licorice, a touch of soy, some mulch and cacao nibs. 4
Bittersweet chocolate chip end and caramel linger.
Round, almost medium, some chew. 3.75
Lots of chocolate from a couple of different angles, and loads of sweet besides. There’s a thread of bitterness - both roast and IBUs - for balance. Oats don’t smooth it quite like they should, and this could be 4.5%, not 5.8%. But dangerously easy. 4
