32oz counter pressure filled growler from Barrel and Barley (Woodstock, GA). 14.46. Served in a Barrel and Barley teku.

Pours dark chestnut brown with a quarter finger ecrue head. Almost no retention and no lace.

Smells of honey, sweet grain, cereal and a little bit of grass.

Lots of sweet wheat grain flavor, a healthy dose of honey, darkened sugar cane, a herbal bitterness, faint tofee and a bit of booze. I like al the flavors here and the alcohol is well integrated but for some reason it feels like it is missing something to pull it all together.

Medium full, semi chalky body with soft carbonation. Plenty of wheat grain and honey in the finish.

I'd not heard of this paticular Georgia brewery before but by busting out with Hivekicker, a wheatwine brewed with honey, Fannin Brewing Company has my attention. A great start here. With a few tweaks this could be a cellarable treat.

Appearance: Hazy, deep amber with a thin white cap.

Aroma: Equal parts spicy, earthy hop and sweet malt.

Flavor: Big toffee sweetness, aforementioned hop profile is in the background, with a bit of alcohol burn.

Mouthfeel: Rich, thick, with low carbonation.

Overall: Very promising seasonal brew from another Georgia brewery. I think time will do very good things to this beer and I hope some keg's or bottles get stashed up in Blue Ridge!
